Choose your charity focus:
When you purchase any Shaw Treatment product we donate over 25% of the sale to a charity working on grass-roots community projects in Africa. And YOU choose which charity focus you want to support from the following:

LifeStraws: Water is essential to life but 1 in 8 people lack access to safe water. Each LifeStraw Family can filter 13,000L of contaminated water to provide water that is 99.9+% free of bacteria, viruses and parasites. Ideally, African communities that don't have access to clean water would have a permanent source of water, such as a well but it takes time, money and people to dig wells and there are 1000s of communities that need clean water. We work directly with the manufacturer of LifeStraw Family to distribute to African communities in need and provide safe drinking water now! Dig a well: If 16 jumbo jets crashed, killing everyone on board, it would be an unthinkable human disaster that would cause an enormous outpouring of sympathy and support from the international community. That's the number of children under five that die each day due to water-related disease. In 1999, 7 year old Ryan Hreljac had his first well dug in Uganda. Since then, Ryan's Well Foundation has helped build over 560 water and sanitation projects in 16 countries bringing safe water and improved sanitation services to over 670,000 people. |

Women and children with HIV/AIDS: The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) supports community-based organizations that are turning the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa. Since 2003, the Stephen Lewis Foundation has funded over 300 projects in 15 countries. If you want to support women who are ill and struggling to survive; assist orphans and other AIDS-affected children; reach heroic grandmothers caring for their orphan grandchildren; and sustain associations of people living with HIV and AIDS then choose to support this program. |

Mosquito nets against malaria: Every 30 seconds a child somewhere in the world dies of malaria and it is the number one killer of children under five in sub-saharan Africa. It's simple. Mosquito nets save lives. We can provide one mosquito net for every two Shaw Treatment products you purchase when you choose to support this program. We are working with Malaria No More to help them achieve their goal of providing a mosquito net for every man, woman and child at risk of malaria in Africa by December 31, 2010. |

Bicycles for healthcare workers: One of the key challenges faced by those working to fight the HIV/AIDS pandemic is transportation. Poor roads and the remote location of many communities make it very difficult to travel from one community to another. While it is neither practical nor affordable to provide all HIV/AIDS workers with a motor vehicle, CAP AIDS (The Canada Africa Partnership on AIDS) is providing them with bicycles. |
Let us decide:
We assess funds and make donations to our focus charities bi-annually. Should you let us decide whichprogram to support then we will choose the program that does not meet our minimum donation target. Each program we support has certain minimums we are trying to achieve: to complete a well, to provide a community or region with mosquito nets, to fund an HIV program for a year, meet minimum order number for LifeStraw Family etc. If we fall short of one of those minimums then we will make up the difference with funds from products purchased under this option. That's why our donations are greater than 25% of each sale. We donate AT LEAST 25% but we increase that donation as needed in order to fully support selected programs.
