At Shaw Treatment, we've identified four main values that weave into every decision we make. Driving an ethical business that strives to produce Earth Friendly products that contain natural and fairly traded ingredients that are not tested on animals is a satisfying and empowering challenge.
Ethical Business
Shaw Treatment's mission is simple ..."make the world a better place." But just how do we plan to accomplish such a lofty mission? Through inspiration gathered from many sources, the value of small actions can lead to great outcomes. Paying a worker a fair wage, supplying a bicycle to student or nurse, building a well and supplying clean water to a village can all have a greater impact than any of us can imagine.
Shaw Treatment will continue to develop and market high quality body care products that encompass our core values. We will conduct ourselves and our business in an ethical manner while recognizing the importance of sustainable growth. We will monitor our growth closely to ensure that our activities do not adversely impact consumers, suppliers, the environment, or communities from whom we obtain supply and aim to support. As we grow and expand our product lines, we will actively seek to be a voice for those who are otherwise ignored.
We will make ourselves available to our customers to answer their challenges and questions. We will seek to educate consumers about Africa, communities in need, HIV/AIDS, malaria, Fairly Traded products, and other topics as they relate to the business of Shaw Treatment and Africa.
Earth Friendly
Shaw Treatment is committed to ensuring that the development, design and manufacture of our products have the least amount of impact on the environment as possible. We work closely with our suppliers and producers to ensure that their environmental standards, policies and practices meet or exceed ours.
For every product we produce, we will ensure that every bottle and container is 100% recyclable and we will ensure that the contents of every bottle and container are 100% biodegradable. That is our promise and commitment to not only customers but it is also the promise we make to the subsequent generations of the Earth itself. The actions we take now will be judged by those who are new to the planet and to those who do not yet exist.
Community Friendly & Fairly Traded
Shaw Treatment believes in the recognition and acknowledgment of other cultures and especially those cultures that may be under threat of disintegration. We will strive to limit our impact on the many unique cultures that exist throughout Africa and around the globe. We will further seek to be a voice for cultures under threat of exploitation.
Shaw Treatment products contain a variety of ingredients that are obtained from all over the globe - from small scale farms to factory farms. It is our intention to obtain ingredients that pay farmers fairly for their agricultural produce such as our shea butter from northern Togo which supports women and families living with HIV/AIDS and other community projects. We will work to ensure that our ingredients come from agriculturally sustainable regions where forests and other natural resources are not negatively impacted through their growth and production.
As Shaw Treatment grows and as we pursue the acquisition of greater quantities of ingredients we will not ignore nor will we do anything to negatively impact the communities, cultures and farmers that grow and produce our ingredients.
Animal Friendly
Shaw Treatment does not test its products on animals and will not use ingredients that are currently being tested on animals. We seek to rely on the industry's past studies and research that have not involved animals. Shaw Treatment will not use ingredients or chemicals whereby current animal tests are being conducted. We believe that there are many ingredients available to the industry that have proven benefits to our skin that have been successfully used in many cultures around the globe for centuries.
We will seek to incorporate natural ingredients that have proven benefits such as shea butter, soy oil, beeswax, tea tree oil, eucalyptus, jojoba, hemp oil, coconut oil and the many other natural products available on the market.
None of Shaw Treatment's products have been tested on animals in any way.
